The name

In Norse myth, Mímir's well (Mímisbrunnr) lies beneath a root of Yggdrasil, the world tree. Its water held wisdom and memory. Odin gave an eye for a single drink from it.

The Mimwell mark shows that well from above: a rim of rune-carved stones, the roots of the world tree reaching into the water, and Odin's eye looking back from the surface. The runes on the rim, ᛗᛁᛗᚹᛖᛚᛚ, spell the name.
